ROMIALD NOUSSI APPOINTED CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER OF AXIAN ENERGY

Antananarivo, February 8, 2024

Pan-African group AXIAN announces the appointment of Romiald NOUSSI as Chief Operating Officer of its Energy cluster. In this new role, Romiald will be tasked with strengthening the Group’s proven expertise in the management and operation of energy projects across Africa.

AXIAN Energy has successfully demonstrated exceptional know-how by developing a pipeline of hydro/solar projects exceeding 1.5 GW. This year’s recent signature of the NEA Kolda project in Senegal, the NEA Marena project in Mauritius, and the acquisition of a power plant in Nagreongo, Burkina Faso reflect our commitment to turning ideas into tangible actions. The appointment of Romiald as Chief Operating Officer strengthens the AXIAN Energy team’s expertise in project management and delivery. With a wealth of experience serving as COO Africa for Aggreko, where he overseed assets producing over 1GW, we believe that Romiald’s joining is set to act as a catalyst for AXIAN Energy’s ambition for continued growth.

Since 2017, AXIAN’s Energy cluster has embarked on a strategic plan to grow its renewable energy operations. It will focus on developing 500MW of renewable energy in Africa over the next three years, thereby promoting access to clean, affordable energy for the continent’s population.

Romiald Noussi, a Cameroonian citizen, has over 20 years’ experience in the energy sector. After holding senior positions at Aggreko, including Country Director and Regional Director for West and Central Africa, he oversaw the implementation, operations and maintenance of major projects. Romiald was also Director of Contourglobal’s 100 MW power plant in Lomé, Togo.
